CCSD3ZF0000100000001NJPL3IF0PDS200000001 = SFDU_LABEL RECORD_TYPE = STREAM PRODUCT_CREATION_TIME = 1991-08-01 OBJECT = TEXT NOTE = "Using the WordPerfect Macros." END_OBJECT END WordPerfect macros have been provided to perform the translation from the standard diacritical characters to the WordPerfect diacritical characters. These macros are located in the GAZETTER directory of each MDIM CDROM. Diacritical characters are found in the DIACRITIC_FEATURE_NAME and FEATURE_DESCRIPTION fields of the gazetteer table (GAZETTER.TAB). Following is a description of each of the macros: STD2WP.WPM - The top-level macro that executes the following macros. ALTJ.WPM - Converts standard diacritical characters in column 1 of the table below to WordPerfect diacritical characters. ALTK.WPM - Converts standard diacritical characters in column 2 of the table below to WordPerfect diacritical characters. ALTL.WPM - Converts standard diacritical characters in column 3 of the table below to WordPerfect diacritical characters. ALTM.WPM - Converts standard diacritical characters in column 4 of the table below to WordPerfect diacritical characters. ALTN.WPM - Converts standard diacritical characters in column 5 of the table below to WordPerfect diacritical characters. ALTO.WPM - Converts standard diacritical characters in column 6 of the table below to WordPerfect diacritical characters. ALTP.WPM - Converts standard diacritical characters in column 7 of the table below to WordPerfect diacritical characters. ALTQ.WPM - Converts standard diacritical characters in column 8 of the table below to WordPerfect diacritical characters. To convert the standard diacritical characters to WordPerfect diacritical characters, the text file must first be RETRIEVEd into WordPerfect. Next, the STD2WP.WPM macro needs to be run. This is done by pressing MACRO and then typing STD2WP.WPM at the prompt. There are eight standard diacritical characters in this table that do not have corresponding WordPerfect character set codes. These diacritical characters are not supported in Character Set 1. As a result, these eight characters must be translated using OVERSTRIKE. First, a forward SEARCH must be done on the text file after running STD2WP.WPM to see if there are any backslash (\) characters remaining. If the SEARCH is unsuccessful in locating any backslash characters, then no action needs to be taken. If the SEARCH is successful, the following actions must be taken: 1) Press FORMAT 2) Press OTHER 3) Press OVERSTRIKE 4) Press CREATE 5) Enter the five characters below that correspond to the standard diacritical code: STANDARD CODE ENTER THESE CHARACTERS ------------- ---------------------- \,D D COMPOSE 1,17 \,d d COMPOSE 1,17 \,H H COMPOSE 1,17 \,h h COMPOSE 1,17 \vO O COMPOSE 1,19 \vo o COMPOSE 1,19 \uO O COMPOSE 1,22 \uo o COMPOSE 1,22 6) Press EXIT 7) Delete the standard diacritical code 8) SEARCH for the backslash character. If one is found, go back to step 1. The table on the next page contains the standard diacritical characters (ie, \%A) used in the DIACRITIC_FEATURE_NAME and FEATURE_DESCRIPTION fields. It also contains the corresponding WordPerfect character set code for each diacritical. Character Set 1 (Multinational 1) of WordPerfect is the character set that is used to translate the standard diacritical characters to WordPerfect diacritical characters. A description of Character Set 1 can be located in the appendix of the WordPerfect manual. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \%A 26|\.C 102|\%G 114|\-I 132|\vN 158|\uO |\%U 66|\^Y 202 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \%a 27|\.c 103|\%g 115|\-i 133|\vn 159|\uo |\%u 67|\^y 203 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \`A 32|\_D 78|\uG 116|\cI 134|\,N 160|\%R 168|\^U 68|\uY 224 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \`a 33|\_d 79|\ug 117|\ci 135|\,n 161|\%r 169|\^u 69|\uy 225 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \:A 30|\vD 104|\vG 118|\~I 136|\-N 216|\vR 170|\:U 70|\`Y 22 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \:a 31|\vd 105|\vg 119|\~i 137|\-n 217|\vr 171|\:u 71|\`y 227 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \^A 28|\-D 212|\,G 120|\^J 140|\%O 58|\,R 172|\`U 72|\%Z 204 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \^a 29|\-d 213|\,g 121|\^j 141|\%o 59|\,r 173|\`u 73|\%z 205 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \~A 76|\)D 228|\^G 122|\,K 142|\^O 60|\uR 218|\uU 188|\vZ 206 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \~a 77|\)d 229|\^g 123|\,k 143|\^o 61|\ur 219|\uu 189|\vz 207 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \-A 92|\,D |\.G 124|\%L 144|\:O 62|\%S 174|\=U 190|\.Z 208 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \-a 93|\,d |\.g 125|\%l 145|\:o 63|\%s 175|\=u 191|\.z 209 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \uA 90|\%E 40|\^H 126|\vL 146|\`O 64|\vS 176|\-U 192| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \ua 91|\%e 41|\^h 127|\vl 147|\`o 65|\vs 177|\-u 193| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \oA 34|\^E 42|\_H 128|\,L 148|\/O 80|\,S 178|\cU 194| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \oa 35|\^e 43|\_h 129|\,l 149|\/o 81|\,s 179|\cu 195| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \cA 94|\:E 44|\,H |\.L 150|\~O 82|\^S 180|\oU 196| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \ca 95|\:e 45|\,h |\.l 151|\~o 83|\^s 181|\ou 197| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \AE 36|\`E 46|\%I 48|\/L 152|\=O 162|\-S 220|\~U 198| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \ae 37|\`e 47|\%i 49|\/l 153|\=o 163|\-s 221|\~u 199| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \%C 96|\vE 106|\^I 50|\-L 214|\-O 164|\vT 182|\)U 232| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \%c 97|\ve 107|\^i 51|\-l 215|\-o 165|\vt 183|\)u 233| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \,C 38|\.E 108|\:I 52|\~N 56|\OE 166|\,T 184|\^W 200| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \,c 39|\.e 109|\:i 53|\~n 57|\oe 167|\,t 185|\^w 201| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \vC 98|\-E 110|\`I 54|\%N 154|\)O 230|\_T 186|\:Y 74| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \vc 99|\-e 111|\`i 55|\%n 155|\)o 231|\_t 187|\:y 75| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \^C 100|\cE 112|\.I 130|\)N 156|\vO |\-T 222|\%Y 84| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- \^c 101|\ce 113| |\)n 157|\vo |\-t 223|\%y 85|
