This file describes the anomalies present in the images which make up
Volumes 26 through 38 of the "Voyagers to the Outer Planets"
collection.  In the FDS count range of 32499.21 through 44304.52,
several classes of anomalies are found.  Each is described below with
a list of the FDS counts of the images falling into each class.  An
"*" indicates that the FDS count is listed in more than one class.


PLANNED BUT NOT RECEIVED
------------------------
These FDS counts were part of planned observations and may be found in
descriptions of Voyager sequences.  However, the images were not
received at the Voyager Ground Data System.  The losses are probably
entirely due either to adverse weather or mechanical problems at the
receiving station.

CORRUPTED ENGINEERING TABLES

Images with these FDS counts were received at the Voyager Ground Data
System.  For unknown reasons, the permanent archive files have
Engineering Tables which are corrupted.  This means that any value a
user may extract from the Engineering Table, such as Spacecraft Name
(SCNAME), Picture Number (IMAGEID), Spacecraft Event Time (IMAGETIME),
and Earth Received Time (EARTHRCDTM), etc., may be invalid.  (For

magnetic tape to disk.  The corruption was severe enough that the

images which should have been placed on a previous CD-ROM volume but
could not be found at the time that the volume was created.  These
compressed frames are named with standard .IMQ extensions.  Their

have the standard .IBG extensions.

INCORRECT FDS COUNT
-------------------
Due to missing key portions of the telemetry, the following files were
originally labeled with the wrong FDS count.  In some cases, the error
was not caught until after the CD volume containing the file was
produced.  In these cases, the file name reflects the incorrect FDS
count, and updated, correctly named files were included in the [FOUND]
directory on either volume VG_0033 or VG_0038.  The cumindex.tab file
has been updated to include the correct FDS count.  Where incorrectly
named files exist, they too are included in the cumindex.tab file with
a note indicating that they have been superceded by the correctly
named file.  The correct FDS counts are listed first; the incorrect
FDS counts follow in parentheses.

Although filenames have been corrected, in no case was internal
telemetry data altered.

Images with these FDS counts have a recorded SCET of "34:07" for the
hour and minute.  The correct value is "00:00".

Images with these FDS counts have IMAGEIDs in which the first four
digits (which consist of the picture sequence number), have rolled
over.  This results in IMAGEIDs which are artificially low relative
to other images which were acquired earlier.  This is not an error;
the IMAGEIDs for the images are correct.
