The EXTRAS directory contains XML-formatted files that were useful to
the MSL flight operations team.  These files are located in the EXTRAS
directory because XML is not considered PDS standard format.  However, 
these files are direct extractions from the MSL operational PLACES
database.  These files are described further in the PLACES_PDS_SIS.PDF
located in the DOCUMENT directory of this volume.

XML_ANCILLARY_DATA/ancillary
Subdirectory of EXTRAS containing information from the MSL operational
PLACES database including exposure times for all camera observations, 
onboard saved frames, and a listing of all spacecraft clock count ranges
for each rover motion counter in the PLACES database.

XML_ANCILLARY_DATA/localizations subdirectory:
Subdirectory of EXTRAS containing rover location and orientation information,
as determined from a variety of sources such as telemetry, the MSL 
Rover Localization Team, and interpolation.

XML_ANCILLARY_DATA/mechanisms
Subdirectory of EXTRAS containing mechanism information from the MSL 
operational PLACES database, primarily joint angles for articulated 
mechanisms.

XML_ANCILLARY_DATA/orbital
Subdirectory of EXTRAS containing information for all the ORBITAL frames
defined in the MSL operational PLACES database.
