The CATALOG directory contains catalog files which are required by PDS.      
These ASCII text files provide high-level information about the              
MSL mission, spacecraft (instrument host), instrument(s),                    
references, and data sets in this archive.  The catalog files, in this       
directory are updated as more precise information becomes available.

The following files are found in this directory:                             
                                                                             
CATINFO.TXT           - This is the file you are reading.                    
                                                                             
ECAM_PERSON.CAT       - This file lists the people, specifically for the     
                        Engineering cameras, responsible for producing this  
                        archive.                                             
                                                                             
ECAM_REF.CAT          - This file lists bibliographic citations, specifically
                        for the Engineering cameras, for works cited in these
                        catalog files.                                       

MSL_INSTHOST.CAT      - This file describes the MSL spacecraft               
                        (instrument host) that carried the instrument        
                                                                             
MSL_MISSION.CAT       - This file provides a brief description of the MSL    
                        mission.  It includes a chronology of events, a      
                        definition of mission phases, and the mission        
                        objectives.                                          
                                                                             
MSL_NAVCAM_INST.CAT   - This file describes the MSL NAVCAM instrument and    
                        its scientific objectives.                           

MSL_NAVCAM_MOSIAC_DS.CAT - This file contains data set objects for the MSL    
                        Navigation camera mosiac data products. This file  
                        provides an overview of the science data in this 
                        archive, including any processing and data reduction 
                        history.  Files from this dataset are present in the
                        DATA directory.

MSL_REF.CAT           - This file lists general, mission-wide, bibliographic 
                        citations for works cited in these catalog files.
