Mars Pathfinder Rover Image Browser

Listed below are the separate types of Rover image data available on this CD. The raw Experiment Data Records (EDRs) are organized into four separate directories on the basis of which camera acquired the image and how the image is formatted. The left and right front cameras both acquired single-banded images and are stored as such in their respective directories. The rear camera acquired single-banded images through red, green, and blue pixels; the images are stored both single-banded, and as three-banded images produced from the originals based on a color map.

The images which have been derived from the raw EDRs are called Mosaicked Image Data Records (MIDRs). These include: "mosaics", in which individual EDRs are mosaicked together to form a larger image; "color" images, in which the mosaics from the rear camera have been converted into color; "CAHV-ed" images, which are geometrically corrected mosaics; and "anaglyphs", in which both left eye and right eye frames have been rendered together to create a three dimensional image. (3D glasses, with a red left lens and a blue right lens, are required to properly view the anaglyphs.)
