INTRODUCTION

The DOCUMENT directory contains documentation in support of the MESSENGER
Digital Elevation Model (DEM) archive volume.  It does not contain a
complete set of documentation for the project, but only select documents that
may be useful in interpreting the archived data products.

DIRECTORY CONTENTS

DOCINFO.TXT
Identifies and describes the function of each file in the document directory.
This file.

MSGR_DEM_SIS.PDF
The 'MESSENGER Digital Elevation Model Software Interface Specification (SIS)'
for the DEM data products as an Adobe PDF document. The SIS is the primary
documentation for the DEM products in this archive volume.

MSGR_DEM_SIS.HTM
The 'MESSENGER Digital Elevation Model Software Interface Specification (SIS)'
for the DEM data products as an HTML document. This file references PNG and
JPEG format images in the IMAGES subdirectory within the DOCUMENT directory.

MSGR_DEM_SIS.LBL
PDS label for MSGR_DEM_SIS.PDF and MSGR_DEM_SIS.HTM and image files.

JP2INFO.TXT
A plain text file that provides a summary description of the JPEG 2000 image
format and how it is applied for DEM data in this archive.

DEM_PDS_USAGE.PDF
A guide provided by the USGS for using the MESSENGER USGS DEMs with the ISIS3
software and Geospatial Data Abstraction Library (GDAL)-based applications in
PDF format.

DEM_PDS_USAGE.HTM
A guide provided by the USGS for using the MESSENGER USGS DEMs with the ISIS3
software and Geospatial Data Abstraction Library (GDAL)-based applications in
HTML format. The HTML text references an image in the IMAGES subdirectory in
the DOCUMENT directory.

DEM_PDS_USAGE.LBL
PDS label for the DEM_PDS_USAGE files.

IMAGES/
Directory containing image files that are referenced by the HTML version of
the SIS (MSGR_DEM_SIS.HTM). These are PNG (*.PNG) and JPEG (*.JPG) image
files.
