This file contains errata and other information or comments regarding 
the contents of this CD volume and earlier volumes in the volume set.
It also contains other information including liens for future CD volumes.

CORRECTIONS to AAREADME.TXT on volume 1 (GO_1001):

  Introduction:  In the third sentence, "The collection" should be replaced
  by "The volume".

  Cognizant Persons:  William Smythe is at JPL.

CORRECTIONS to VOLDESC.SFD on volume 1 (GO_1001):

  VOLUME_SET_NAME should be "Galileo: Near-Infrared Mapping Spectrometer
  (NIMS) EDR Data" instead of "Mission to Jupiter".  (The latter is the
  VOLUME_SERIES NAME.)

  VOLUME_SET_ID should be "USA_NASA_JPL_GO_10XX" instead of
  "USA_NASA_JPL_GO_1001".

  VOLUMES should have value UNK (unknown) instead of 1.

  VOLUME_NAME should be "Galileo NIMS EDR Data from the Venus and Earth 1
  Encounters" instead of "Galileo:Near-Infrared Mapping Spectrometer (NIMS)
  EDR Data"

  The convention for naming this file has changed since it was written.
  It will be named VOLINFO.CAT on later volumes.


CORRECTIONS to files in [GEOMETRY] on volume 1 (GO_1001):

  Both versions of the NIMS I kernel (NIMSV01.IK and NIMSV02.IK) do not
  yet reflect the known mirror direction offset in the NIMS instrument,
  nor the .25 milliradian boresight offset.


CORRECTIONS to files in [INDEX] on volume 1 (GO_1001):

  The format of OBSCAT.TAB has been modified slightly in later volumes.
  The third column has been changed from PROFILE_ACTIVITY_ID to a more
  useful parameter, PARAMETER_SET_ID.  See VOLINFO.TXT or OBSCAT.LBL
  in the second or subsequent volumes for a detailed definition.


CORRECTIONS to files in [SOFTWARE.VAXVMS] on volume 1 (GO_1001):

  BUILD.COM will not successfully link the ADDLAB program.  The last line
  must be replaced by $LINK ADDLAB,CRTL/OPT and a file CRTL.OPT containing
  the single line SYS$SHARE:VAXCRTL.EXE/SHARE must be created before
  executing BUILD.COM.


MISSING catalog templates

  The [CATALOG] directory was not included on volume 1 (GO_1001).  This
  directory should contain catalog files for the mission, instrument host,
  instrument, and each dataset, as well as a file of references.

LIENS (items to be included in later volumes in the set):

Software:

  Provide portable or SUN version of EDRDMP program.

Calibration files:

  Calibration files needed by both the Vicar and ISIS cube generation
  programs are not included on the current volume, though they may be on
  future volumes in the series.  Current versions of calibration files are
  distributed with the ISIS system.  They may also be obtained separately
  by contacting the NIMS team.

Spike files:

  Spike files are not included on the current volume, though they may be
  on future volumes in the series.

Cube Generation Parameters:

  Various parameters are needed when generating spectral image cubes.
  In order to assist in this process, it is planned to include cube 
  generation parameter files for all observations(including those whose
  EDRs are on this volume) in later volumes of the set. These files would
  allow the user to generate a cube of an observation automatically from
  the EDR(s) containing the data. Both ISIS and Vicar parameter files may
  be provided.
