PDS_VERSION_ID = PDS3 RECORD_TYPE = STREAM OBJECT = TEXT PUBLICATION_DATE = 2014-09-22 NOTE = "Description of the data directory contents for the Cassini Imaging Science Subsystem EDR archive" END_OBJECT = TEXT END DATA Directory Contents Volume ID: COISS_2087 Range (SCLK): 1767109271 - 1767192839 Range (UTC): 2013-364T14:42:03.406 - 2013-365T13:56:17.816 The data directory contains the EDR image data files and accompanying detached PDS label files. These files are organized on the archive volumes in subdirectories in Spacecraft Clock (SCLK) order. Spacecraft Clock is the fundamental time measurement mechanism used for the Cassini spacecraft. SCLK times translate to a specific UTC time. Each subdirectory contains up to 128 image files and the corresponding 128 image label files, for a maximum of 256 files per subdirectory (per PDS limitations). Given the fact that the ISS EDR image size varies, the total number of images per volume varies. Approximately 3,000 to 5,000 images can be found on each DVD volume, with individual volumes filled to maximum capacity. For more discussion on the EDR images and PDS label files created by the Cassini Instrument Operations Team (IO), refer to the EDR Data Product Software Interface Agreement (JPL D-24724). Subdirectory Naming Convention ------------------------------ Convention: _ start SCLK = start SCLK of subdirectory coverage stop SCLK = stop SCLK of subdirectory coverage Example: /1294561143_1351738471/ EDR Image File Naming Convention -------------------------------- Convention: _.IMG camera = one letter abbreviation for camera used to take image(N=NAC, W=WAC) image SCLK = 10-digit value of spacecraft clock at time of shutter close version = version number of the file Example: N1832898283_4.IMG
