           Content description of the BROWSE Subdirectory


The 'browse' directory contains HTML documents that when linked to
a web browser application (such as Netscape or Microsoft's Internet
Explorer) allows a user to browse the image collection on the CD
volume. The HTML documents in this directory are:

    brwsgrp.htm - provides a graphical-based interface to the
       .5km/pixel browse image collection
    brwsgrp2.htm - provides a graphical-based interface to the
       lower resolution (2.5 & 12.5km/pixel) browse image collection
    brwstxt.htm - provides a text-based interface to the browse
       image collection

These HTML documents can be directly opened with a web browser
or they can be reached through the CD home page, named 'index.htm',
located in the root directory.

The 'browse' directory contains sub-directories 'small', 'medium',
and 'large', each with a directory tree that mimics the data
directories of the CD volume. These subdirectories contain
browse images (formatted in a JPEG format) and additional
html documents for each image tile located on the volume.

Volume 15 (this CD), the final volume for this CD set, contains
HTML documents and the medium and small browse images for
the entire CD collection. The browse collection representing each
CD can be accessed via the INDEX.HTM document at the root directory
on volume 15.
