END_OBJECT = TEXT END INDEX Directory Contents The INDEX directory contains tabular index files, accompanied by detached PDS labels, intended for database use. The following files are found in this directory: INDXINFO.TXT - The file you are now reading. INDEX.LBL - Detached PDS label for INDEX.TAB. INDEX.TAB - Abbreviated index table for the current Mars Pathfinder IMP EDR image archive volume. Contains image location information and primary search criteria. CUMINDEX.LBL - Detached PDS label for CUMINDEX.TAB. CUMINDEX.TAB - Cumulative index table for all three Mars Pathfinder IMP EDR image archive volumes. EDRINDEX.LBL - Detached PDS label for EDRINDEX.TAB. EDRINDEX.TAB - Detailed index table for all three Mars Pathfinder IMP EDR image archive volumes. Contains most of the parameters from the project database except those that were applicable only to mission operations. COMMAND.LBL - Detached PDS label for COMMAND.TAB. COMMAND.TAB - Table of commands used for Mars Pathfinder IMP camera. Notes on Using the Index Tables The index, cumulative index, and EDR index tables in this directory contain one row (or record) for each image in the Mars Pathfinder EDR image archive. The INDEX.TAB file lists images on this CD-ROM volume, whereas the CUMINDEX.TAB and EDRINDEX.TAB files list all images from all three CD-ROM volumes in this archive. The command table contains one row for each IMP image_id, which corresponds to a unique set of command parameters. Multiple images may have the same image_id. All the tables are formatted so that they can be read directly into many data management systems. All fields are separated by commas, and character fields are enclosed in double quotation marks ("). Character fields are left justified, and numeric fields are right justified. Each record ends with ASCII carriage return and line feed characters. This allows the table to be treated as a fixed length record file on computers that support this file type and as a normal text file on other computers. The ".LBL" files are PDS label files that describe the content and structure of the fields in the tables, including field name, format, and description. The values for start byte and number of bytes listed in the label file do not include commas between fields or quotation marks surrounding character fields.
