How Long Will This Search Take?
Generally, the more constraints placed on a search, the longer it will
take. A simple latitude-longitude search on a relatively small area,
say 2 by 2 degrees, should take less than a minute. Searches using
constraints from three or more of the tabbed categories may take three
minutes or longer. Ten minutes is not unheard of for a very complex
search. Also keep in mind that the time required for a search depends
on the system load and the network load, as well as the number of
constraints selected.
There are almost 2 million images in the Clementine database.
A search that's not well-constrained can easily turn up tens
of thousands of images, which is probably not a very useful result.
To prevent time being wasted on such searches, the system
will stop searching after it finds 1000 images that match the
selected criteria. If your search results in 1000 images, that's
a sign that you probably need to tighten your constraints, or add
more constraints.
